Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. She grew up within a multiethnic household. Her father Elroy is from Sri Lanka (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother Kim, a Malaysian. Her siblings include two brothers and an older sister. The family relocated to Bahrain in the late 1980s as a result of the Lankan tensions and she was raised in Bahrain. After finishing the schooling in Bahrain she received the Scholarship at the University of Sydney to pursue the Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. To further develop her love of the world of languages, cultures and languages, she was enrolled at the Berlitz schools of languages in which she could study Spanish as well as improve French as well as Arabic. In 2006, she was crowned the Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March, 2006. She also participated at Miss Universe 2006. In 2006, she was awarded she won the Miss Sri Lanka title. Then, she stepped into the world of television, hosting an interview show on Sri Lankan business called Lanka Business Report. Padukone (the mother of former badminton player Prakash Padukone) was born and raised in Bangalore. As a teenager, she played badminton in National level competitions. She later resigned her profession in sports to pursue a career as a model. Padukone is born in Mangalorean background Her mother language is Konkani. Her lineage hails from Padukone village in Kundapura Taluk in the Udupi District in the State of Karnataka, India. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend, who retired in the 1980s. Her mother, who worked for a travel agency also comes from the village.
